1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an InReelRoom account, we may collect:

• Your name
• Email address
• Password or authentication credentials
• Account verification information
• Profile photograph
• Profile preferences and privacy settings

Passwords are used for account authentication and are not displayed publicly.

Google Sign-In Information

If you choose to sign in using Google, Google may provide information needed to authenticate your account, such as:

• Google account identifier
• Name
• Email address
• Profile image, where available

We use this information to create, authenticate, and manage your InReelRoom account. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's applicable privacy terms.

2. Profile and Social Information

InReelRoom is a social movie platform. When you use social features, we may collect and store information such as:

• Profile information
• Followers and following relationships
• Users you block or mute
• Movie rooms you create or join
• Room membership and invitations
• Movie votes and movie-night schedules
• Movie ratings, favorites, watchlists, and watched-movie history
• Comments, replies, likes, and reactions
• Reports submitted about content or users
• Privacy preferences

Some of this information may be visible to other InReelRoom users depending on the feature being used and your privacy settings.

3. Messages and User-Generated Content

InReelRoom allows users to communicate and share content. This may include:

• Room messages
• Direct messages
• Text reactions
• Comments and replies
• Audio reactions
• Video reactions
• Profile images and other uploaded media

Direct messages are intended to be visible only to participants in the conversation. Content shared in rooms, reaction feeds, comments, or other community areas may be visible to other users who have access to those areas.

Users should avoid sharing highly sensitive personal information through messages, reactions, comments, or other public or semi-public areas of InReelRoom.

4. Camera, Microphone and Media Access

Camera

InReelRoom may request camera access when you choose to take or update a profile photograph or record a video reaction. Camera access is only requested when you use a feature that requires it.

Microphone

InReelRoom may request microphone access when you choose to record an audio or voice reaction. Microphone access is not required for basic use of the application.

Photos and Media Library

InReelRoom may request access to your media library when you choose to upload a profile image, an existing video, audio, or other supported media. We only access content you choose to select or upload through these features.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, InReelRoom may collect and process information required to deliver push notifications, including:

• Push notification token
• Device registration information
• Notification preferences
• Notification interaction information

Notifications may be used to inform you about messages, room activity, social interactions, or other relevant InReelRoom events. You can control notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, through InReelRoom notification preferences.

6. Device and Technical Information

We may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service, including:

• Device identifier generated for security purposes
• Device type or device name
• Operating system/platform
• Application version
• Device language and regional settings
• Time zone and UTC offset
• IP address and request timestamps
• Authentication/session information
• Error and diagnostic information

A locally generated device identifier may be stored securely on your device and used for security, account session management, and recognizing authorized devices.

We do not require precise GPS location for the normal operation of InReelRoom.

7. Local Storage and Caching

InReelRoom may store information locally on your device to improve performance and maintain your preferences, including:

• Authentication/session information
• Theme preferences
• Language and regional preferences
• Cached movie information
• Cached social-feed information
• Cached audio or media files
• Other temporary application data

Sensitive authentication information is stored using secure device storage where supported. Cached information may be removed automatically or when application data is cleared.

8. How We Use Information

We use information collected through InReelRoom to:

• Create and manage user accounts
• Authenticate users and provide Google Sign-In
• Operate movie rooms
• Enable messaging and social features
• Provide and personalize movie recommendations
• Maintain favorites, watchlists, ratings, and viewing history
• Schedule movie nights
• Send notifications
• Enable reactions, comments, and media sharing
• Enforce privacy settings
• Prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Moderate reported content
• Maintain security
• Provide customer support
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve application performance and reliability
• Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations

We do not use private direct-message content to create advertising profiles.

9. Movie Recommendations

InReelRoom may use your activity to improve recommendations and movie discovery. Signals may include:

• Movie ratings
• Votes
• Watched movies
• Favorites
• Watchlist activity
• Selected genres
• Movie-room activity
• Reactions
• Follow relationships
• Movies you indicate you are not interested in

These signals are used to provide more relevant movie recommendations and improve the experience within InReelRoom.

10. Advertising

InReelRoom uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

For the current version of InReelRoom, we request non-personalized advertisements.

Even non-personalized advertisements may use information such as:

• IP address
• Device or advertising identifiers
• General or coarse geographic information
• App information
• Advertising interaction information
• Information required for fraud prevention
• Information required for frequency capping
• Aggregated advertising measurement and reporting

Google and its advertising partners may process information according to their own privacy policies.

In jurisdictions where consent is required, including certain users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, InReelRoom uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and manage applicable advertising consent.

We do not provide Google AdMob with your InReelRoom password or knowingly send your name, email address, direct messages, or other directly identifying account information for ad targeting.

11. Third-Party Services

Google

Google services may be used for Google Sign-In, Google Mobile Ads/AdMob, advertising consent management, Android notification infrastructure, and related platform services. Google may independently collect information according to its own privacy policies.

Expo

InReelRoom uses Expo technologies and services for portions of application functionality, including push-notification delivery and application infrastructure. Information necessary to deliver notifications may pass through Expo's notification infrastructure.

TMDB

InReelRoom uses movie information and imagery obtained from The Movie Database (TMDB). Requests to TMDB or its image services may result in standard technical information, such as IP address and request information, being processed by TMDB. InReelRoom is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Hosting and Infrastructure Providers

We may use hosting, database, security, email, server, and infrastructure providers to operate InReelRoom. These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to us.

12. When We Share Information

We may share limited information:

• With service providers required to operate InReelRoom
• With authentication providers when you choose third-party login
• With advertising providers as described above
• With notification delivery providers
• When required by law, court order, or lawful government request
• To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our rules
• To protect the safety, rights, and property of InReelRoom, our users, or others
• As part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the service, subject to applicable legal requirements

Information you voluntarily publish through public or shared areas of InReelRoom may also be visible to other users.

13. Profile Visibility and Messaging Controls

InReelRoom provides privacy controls that may allow you to determine who can view your profile. Available profile visibility settings may include:

• Public — other InReelRoom users may find and view your profile
• Followers — only users who follow you may access your full profile
• Private — only you may access your full profile

You may also control who can initiate direct conversations with you, including people you follow, mutual followers, or nobody. You can also block or mute other users.

14. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect user information. These measures include practices such as:

• HTTPS encryption for communication between the application and our servers
• Secure device storage for sensitive session/authentication information where supported
• Authentication controls
• Device/session management
• Access controls
• Server-side validation
• Abuse and moderation controls

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate your account, provide InReelRoom services, maintain security, prevent abuse or fraud, resolve disputes, meet legitimate business requirements, and comply with legal obligations.

When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it. Backups and security records may remain for a limited period after deletion before being permanently overwritten or deleted.

16. Account Data Export

InReelRoom may provide an account-data export feature. Authenticated users may request a copy of certain account information, which may include profile information, rooms, connections, messages, reactions, preferences, and other associated account information.

For security, you may be required to verify your password before exporting information.

17. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your InReelRoom account.

Delete From the App

Within InReelRoom, go to Profile → Privacy → Account Data → Delete Account. You may be required to confirm your password and type the requested deletion confirmation before deletion is processed.

Delete From the Web

When your account is deleted:

• Your account is disabled
• Personal profile information is deleted or anonymized
• Authentication/session access is revoked
• Device and notification registrations associated with the account are removed where applicable
• Information no longer required for legitimate purposes is deleted or anonymized

Some messages, reactions, room activity, or other content shared with other users may remain in a de-identified form where necessary to preserve the integrity of conversations or shared community history. Where retained, identifying profile information may be removed or replaced with a designation such as Deleted User.

We may retain limited information where necessary for legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.

18. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Request access to your information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion
• Obtain a copy of your information
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Change advertising consent choices where available
• Lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection authority

19. European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Where applicable, we process personal information under one or more lawful bases, including:

• Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to provide the InReelRoom service you request.
• Legitimate interests: where necessary to secure, maintain, improve, and protect InReelRoom, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent: where applicable, including certain advertising or device-access activities.
• Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

You may withdraw consent where legally permitted without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

20. United States Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights relating to personal information, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and certain rights concerning targeted advertising or data sharing.

InReelRoom currently requests non-personalized advertisements through Google AdMob.

We do not sell your name, email address, private messages, or account password for monetary consideration. Where applicable law treats certain advertising-related disclosures as “sharing,” users may exercise applicable privacy rights or consent choices made available through the application or advertising consent interface.

21. Children's Privacy

InReelRoom is intended for users aged 13 and above and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under the applicable minimum age without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information improperly may contact us.

22. International Data Processing

Because InReelRoom uses internet-based service providers, information may be processed or stored in countries different from the country where you live. Where required, we take reasonable measures to ensure appropriate safeguards apply to international transfers of personal information.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the application, our website, or another appropriate method.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
